Rawang is a town and mukim located in the Gombak District of Selangor, Malaysia. It is approximately about 23 km northwest of the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. In the early days, Rawang was famous for its tin mining activities. The population in Rawang is about 120,447 people.

In British Malaya, tin mining activity was an industry that was associated with Rawang. When World War II reached our shores, Rawang was invaded by the Japanese and the tin mining sector deteriorated during their rule, but later revived after the war ended. Rawang is one of the earliest towns to produce agricultural and natural products and cement.

To get to Rawang town centre, one can choose to take the Rawang Interchange from the North–South Expressway, the Guthrie Corridor Expressway from Rawang South Interchange, the Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway from Rawang South Interchange. The Rawang Railway Station is one of the major stops for the KTM Intercity trains serving the Port Klang line. There is a newer and much bigger bus station in the centre of the new town area of Rawang, located just opposite a Mydin Wholesaler. However, RapidKL bus services are limited in the area of Rawang.
